AKC FETCH TRAINING
The AKC® Fetch Course is an interactive training program designed to harness a dog’s natural retrieving instincts while teaching them essential obedience skills. Through a series of structured exercises, dogs learn to fetch, return, and release objects on command, all while reinforcing key commands such as “fetch,” “drop it,” and “come.” The course emphasizes the importance of safety and control, ensuring that dogs perform these tasks reliably and without displaying possessive behavior. Whether for fun or utility, the Fetch Course is an excellent way for dogs to engage in physical activity and mental stimulation, strengthening their bond with their owners.
Upon completing the AKC® Fetch Course, dogs are tested on their ability to perform the learned behaviors consistently and accurately. Those who pass the evaluation can earn the official AKC® Fetch Title, a recognition of their skill and training in retrieving. This title not only highlights a dog’s proficiency in fetch but also demonstrates their overall obedience and reliability. Earning the AKC® Fetch Title is an achievement that can lead to further opportunities in canine sports and activities, making the Fetch Course both a fun and rewarding experience for dogs and their owners.
